Dr. Jonathan A.J. Wilson’s career spans 20 years – initially as an Advertising and Marketing Communications industry professional; and currently as a Branding Consultant, Academic, and Writer. His area of specialism, as he describes it, tackles the ABCDs of Culture: Advertising, Branding, Communications, and Digital. Dr Wilson has spoken at conferences across the globe on over 100 occasions, and published over 200 pieces of work. His approach to blending the arts and sciences has attracted worldwide media coverage and recognition – especially for his work in Halal Branding. In 2015 Islamica 500 listed him in the Top 50 Global Thought Leaders for his work in Islamic Economics, Halal Branding, and Muslim Millennials. He is Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Islamic Marketing, and is also a Trainer for Al Jazeera Media Network. In 2014 Dr Wilson was awarded the University of Greenwich Vice Chancellor’s award for Staff Member of the Year across the entire university. In 2000 he converted to Islam and is known as Bilal amongst his friends.
